From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Cigna to Leave Auto Insurance Business: Cigna Corp., one of the nation’s largest financial service firms, is pulling out of the automobile and personal liability insurance business as part of its plan to become a largely commercial insurer. It plans to stop writing new business by May 1. Cigna said it has less than 1% of the auto insurance business nationally, and no more than a 2% share in the auto insurance or liability insurance market. Cigna will continue to write homeowners insurance, which is profitable.
