Unification of Germany

Humor, indeed biting humor, is the essence of political caricature. However, Conrad’s cartoon transgresses the boundaries of both good taste and common sense. To evoke the image of Germany’s and Europe’s scourge of this century in the person of the democratically elected leader of a viable democracy shows such a lack of responsibility and such a vicious predisposition that it should not go unchallenged.
