The City Council on Tuesday directed attorney Thomas Parrington to work with property owners to develop drawings, construction estimates, financing and ways for the city’s Community Redevelopment Agency to help in reconstruction of downtown shops destroyed in a Dec. 6 fire.

Architect Don Watts is working on a proposal for a 2,600-square-foot building with a courtyard for property owners Fred Crockett and Helen Elliott, City Manager Jim McRea said. Meanwhile, he said, property owner Berge Yeghiaian is putting together a proposal for a 3,000-square-foot building. Damage in the fire was estimated at $721,000.
