Feminists Seek a Study of Women in Combat

A senior retired woman Air Force officer Monday termed the military’s reluctance to assign women to combat jobs “Neanderthal thinking” and said women should get such duties if they are qualified.

Retired Col. Diane Ordes made the remarks as she and retired Army Brig. Gen. Pat Foote endorsed a push by the National Organization for Women for a four-year Army study of women’s performance in combat units.
