VENTURA : Deputies Arrest 4 on Drug Sale Charges

A one-week undercover investigation by Ventura law enforcement authorities has ended with the arrest of four people on drug sales charges.

Three suspects met with an undercover deputy sheriff at the City Center Motel at 837 E. Thompson Blvd. in Ventura and sold him 3 kilograms of high-grade cocaine, said Deputy Chet Williams of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.

Francisco Regalado Chavez, 23, of Ventura; Eleazar Juarez Ponce, 36, of Ventura and Maria Elena Perez, 24, of Ojai were arrested on Monday.

Chavez, Ponce and Perez were booked into Ventura County Jail with bail set at $50,000 each, Williams said.

The Ventura Police Department and California Highway Patrol also participated in the investigation.

Officers searched Chavez’s home in the 700 block of Poli Street and found 3 pounds of marijuana packaged for sales and 1 ounce of cocaine, Williams said. Officers also seized $3,500 cash, he said.

Hector Macias Tolentino, 29, of Ventura was arrested for possession of marijuana for sale. Bail was set at $5,000, Williams said.
