CALIFORNIA IN BRIEF : SACRAMENTO : Initiative Opposes Aliens Buying Land

An initiative aimed at prohibiting non-U.S. citizens from purchasing California real estate has received the go-ahead for the collection of signatures. If backers of the measure, written by Mark Peters of Glendora, collect the verified signatures of 595,485 registered voters by Aug. 17, it will go on the Nov. 6 general election ballot.
