Critics on Turner on a Hot Tin Roof: “Yes, Kathleen Turner is a tough, sexy and even funny Maggie in the respectable, occasionally riveting revival of ‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof’ that opened Wednesday at Broadway’s Eugene O’Neill Theater,” wrote AP drama critic Michael Kuchwara. Clive Barnes of the New York Post also gave Turner the nod: “Turner, mocking yet fearful, sassily funny yet itchy with desires that go beyond sex, is giving a performance to cherish.” Frank Rich of the New York Times praised Turner but said that the new production, which also stars Daniel Hugh Kelly as Brick, “will be most remembered for Charles Durning’s Big Daddy.”
