Japanese Firms Plan Indiana Tire Plant

Three Japanese companies have formed a joint venture to build a $60-million plant in Scottsburg to make steel tire cords, officials said.

Joining in the Kokoku Steel Cord Corp. venture are Kokoku Steel Wire and Kanematsu Corp., both of Tokyo, and Nichimen Corp. of Osaka.
