Controversy Over Legalization of Drugs in America
No amount of money or military intervention will win the war on drugs in this country as long as it is the desire of men, women, and youth in America to use drugs to avoid facing reality. We have become a nation of emotional cripples. Drugs supply a transient high and instant gratification, even if only temporary. Life is tough; we humans are imperfect.
Compassionately giving people skills to cope with this perpetual insecurity might do more to reduce a person’s need to use drugs than any law or show of force. Anything else is just treating the symptoms, not the cause.
