John A. Walker Jr., jailed for life for masterminding a family spy ring, said his crimes were no worse than insider trading on the stock market. In an interview with CBS’ “60 Minutes,” to be broadcast today, the former Navy communications specialist expressed little remorse about having spied for the Soviet Union for 18 years. However, he did not recommend espionage as a vocation: “It’s not profitable. It’s dangerous.”
