P.M. BRIEFING : Grumman Expands Europe Ties

NEW YORK — Grumman Corp. said today that it is expanding operations in Europe and seeking new partnerships with foreign companies.
Grumman International Inc., the defense and aerospace corporation’s foreign subsidiary, is opening a new office in Brussels.
“The office opening coincides with increased Grumman efforts to form reciprocal business relationships in a number of European countries,” the company, based in Bethpage, N.Y., said.
Grumman is currently developing a surveillance system called Joint-Stars for the U.S. Air Force and Army which are jointly evaluating its potential for use in Europe.
Grumman has also teamed up with Gruppo/Agusta SpA of Italy to bid on an aircraft training system for the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy.
