SHORT TAKES : A.M. Anchor Palmer Leaves NBC

Today is John Palmer’s last day at NBC News after 26 years. His final week was spent anchoring “NBC News at Sunrise,” and they had a party for him on the set Thursday morning. Palmer is going to host a new syndicated series, “Only Thursday,” for King World. Tom Capra, executive producer of the “Today” show, said a permanent replacement for Palmer as news anchor on the morning show should be chosen in a matter of days--and will be someone from within NBC.
