William S. Martin Jr. has announced his retirement, effective June 30, as chairman and chief executive of UnionFed Financial Corp., Los Angeles, and its wholly owned subsidiary, Union Federal Savings Bank. Current president and chief operating officer Roger L. Kringen will assume the additional duties of chairman and chief executive of both organizations. Martin, who turns 65 this May, will remain on the board and executive committee.
