Louise B. Romano has been named to head a new marketing communications department in Pacific Mutual Life Insurance Co.’s personal financial services business unit. The company said the department was created to enhance Pacific Mutual’s competitive position in brokerage markets. Romano joined Newport Beach-based Pacific Mutual in 1972 and was appointed assistant vice president in 1986.
