‘Whiny’ Complaints

I am sick and tired of reading the whiny and wimpy complaints in response to “Homes as Sex Symbols” by Rhonda Bright (March 4). It is quite obvious that these people are frustrated renters who would rather sit back and complain how shallow these homeowners are, rather than see the logic in Rhonda Bright’s article and go out a buy a home for themselves.

As a professional biologist, I have studied several animal species (mostly monogamous ones) where the males establish their territorial “airspace” first, and then only afterwards attract a mate. The female’s mate choice is often based on not only the size of the male’s territory, but also on how centralized the location is in the area. We must all keep in mind that although we are not just animal species, we are an animal species.

I am single, I own my own house in Beverly Hills and not only am I darn proud of my home, I brought it for the investment and comfort qualities as well as to attract a mate. I’ve nothing to be ashamed of and I’ll not hide my head in the sand about my house. I say “bravo” to Rhonda Bright for having both the insight and nerve to reveal the true nature and realities of the human animal and the territorial imperatives.
