In a recent movies column, it was suggested that viewers tape the original “Stella Dallas” with Barbara Stanwyck on KTTV. Having never seen it, I looked forward to viewing a classic. Thanks to my wife, a “Stella” expert, I know we saw one of the worst editing jobs ever.

A KTTV spokesman said that a “timing error on the reels” made it appear that the film was poorly cut.
