Strike Postpones Opera: A surprise strike by theater technicians at the ultramodern Paris Bastille Opera prompted cancellation of “The Trojans,” but outrage among fans forced officials on Sunday to reschedule it. About 3,000 people, many from abroad or the provinces, were turned away from a Saturday performance after technicians walked out earlier in the day to demand better pay and working conditions. The strike marked the first cancellation at the glass-and-tile structure since the opening performance of Hector Berlioz’s six-hour epic two weeks ago. Administrator George-Francois Hirsch offered to reimburse opera-goers for the tickets, which ranged from $6.50 to $60. In a statement Sunday, the Bastille Opera promised to honor the tickets for a performance tonight and reimburse those not used.
