Attention “Beauty and the Beast” fans: repeats of the much-mourned, Emmy-winning CBS series and three never-before-seen episodes will begin airing on cable’s Family Channel in September. The show will move into syndication on broadcast stations across the country a year after that.

The Family Channel, which is available to about 48 million basic-cable subscribers, reportedly has paid $100,000 per episode for the rights to air each of the 56 episodes twice during the next year. The cable channel plans to air two hours of the series each Monday at 8 p.m.

Republic Pictures TV, the show’s syndicator, has begun to sell the show to broadcast stations for the two subsequent years beginning in the fall of 1991. So far eight stations have signed on to carry it, but none yet in Los Angeles.
