Lawyers for North Carolina State are going...

Lawyers for North Carolina State are going to the University of North Carolina Board of Governors today seeking authorization to pursue legal action against basketball Coach Jim Valvano.

The UNC Board of Governors, the governing body of the state’s 16-campus system, must authorize litigation pursued by any member school.

As they do, Wolfpack point guard Chris Corchiani is entertaining proposals to transfer to other schools. Corchiani said he will leave if Valvano is forced out.
