Van Gogh ‘Irises’

The purchase of the Van Gogh “Irises” by the Getty Museum and the speed placing it on display, smacks more of a Hollywood stunt than a serious art purchase (Part A, March 22). That the curators of the Getty Museum fell under the recent Van Gogh spell makes you wonder if the (undisclosed) enormous amount of money could not have been spent better.
