Werner is co-creator and executive producer of television’s “The Cosby Show” and “Roseanne” and holds the latter title on “A Different World” and “Grand.” “Cosby,” “World” and “Grand” are on NBC and “Roseanne” is on ABC. All are popular family entertainment shows. VICE CHAIRMEN Goldsmith, chairman and chief executive officer, Republic Pictures. Goldsmith is also director of City National Bank and is a member of the board of governors of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Republic Pictures is a production and distribution company for television and home videos. It is known for its television series “Beauty and the Beast” and its extensive library, including “Bonanza” and “High Noon.” Art Engel, president of Southwest Marine. Engel also runs the San Diego Harbor Excursion and the Old Ferry Landing, a shopping center in Coronado, and serves on the board of directors of the San Diego Port Tenants Assn. Southwest Marine has the largest network of ship-repair facilities on the West Coast. Art Rivkin, director of San Diego Trust & Savings. Rivkin also owns R Group Management, which owns a radio station in Palm Springs and other investments. Rivkin was the president and owner of Coca-Cola Bottling Co. of San Diego before selling it in 1983. OTHER PARTNERS Malin Burnham, chairman of John Burnham & Co. and First National Bank. Burnham is also the president of the Sail America Foundation, the syndicate that won the America’s Cup for the San Diego Yacht Club. In addition, Burnham chairs the La Jolla Cancer Research Foundation, is a trustee of Stanford University and of the San Diego Hall of Champions, and is director of the Greater San Diego Sports Assn. (GSDSA). Jack Goodall Jr., chairman, president and CEO of Foodmaker Inc. Goodall is founder and director of Grossmont Bank, a director of the GSDSA, a chairman of the Child Abuse Prevention Foundation and a trustee of the University of San Diego and of Mercy Hospital. Foodmaker owns 970 Jack in the Box and 210 Chi-Chi restaurants. Leon Parma, president and owner of Coast Distributing Co. Parma is founder and chairman of La Jolla Bank & Trust Co. He is a former president of the GSDSA and the Holiday Bowl, and was the first task force chairman of Super Bowl XXII in San Diego. Coast is the San Diego distributor of Anheuser-Busch products. L. Robert Payne, president of Mission Valley Associates Inc. and part-owner of Doubletree Hotel in San Diego. Payne is president-elect of the Holiday Bowl. Formerly, he was a chairman for San Diego County’s Super Bowl Task Force in 1988, president of the GSDSA and director of the Hall of Champions and Mercy Hospital Foundation. Mission Valley Associates is a real-estate development and investment company. Ernest Rady, chairman and president of American Assets Inc. Rady is also chairman of Insurance Co. of the West and Children’s Hospital and director of Western Financial Savings Bank. American Assets is a real-estate development and investment firm. Scott Wolfe, partner in the law firm Latham & Watkins. Wolfe helped put the group together and assisted in its negotiations with the Padres. He is also a trustee of Children’s Hospital and La Jolla Cancer Research Foundation.
