Suriname Police Burn 1,000 Kilos of Cocaine

PARAMARIBO, Suriname —
Surinamese police Monday burned 1,000 kilograms of cocaine handed over to them by guerrillas who said they seized it from Colombian drug smugglers.
The cocaine, reportedly taken from a Colombian plane that had landed in the guerrillas’ stronghold, was worth an estimated $40 million.
