NAMES IN THE NEWS : 10 Celebrities Lose Their Bite

Pete Rose, Mike Tyson, Oprah Winfrey--you’re just chopped liver now. Stage Deli patrons, saying the three are among 10 famous people who no longer cut the mustard, have voted their sandwiches off the eatery’s menu.

“While the results were a dream come true for some, they were a nightmare for others,” Stage co-owner Paul Zolenga said Tuesday.

Comedians Shecky Greene and Nipsey Russell got the boot; the late Yankees Manager Billy Martin, once No. 1 in pinstripes and No. 14 on the menu, was ejected along with actor Max Von Sydow and soap opera heartthrob Jack Wagner.

The more than 700 customers making culinary choices went Hollywood in selecting replacements. Box-office stars Kevin Costner, Tom Cruise, Mel Gibson, Tom Hanks, Bette Midler and Jack Nicholson were voted onto the menu.

Chicago Bulls superstar Michael Jordan and late-night talk show hosts David Letterman and Arsenio Hall round out the winners.
