Rossmoor : Development Would Boost Noise, Traffic
The proposed Bixby Ranch Co. project in Seal Beach will substantially increase traffic and noise in nearby Rossmoor, the Rossmoor Community Service District’s board members agreed this week.
Seal Beach council members have asked the district’s board of directors for their input on the proposed Bixby Ranch Co. project.
The 231-acre development would be on the Old Ranch Golf Course property, which borders Rossmoor to the west, the San Diego Freeway to the south and the Armed Forces Reserve Center in Los Alamitos to the north.
Several development plans are being considered, including only homes, a mix of homes and retail businesses and a combination of homes, shops and a hotel.
Board members agreed that traffic along Seal Beach Boulevard--which becomes Los Alamitos Boulevard at Rossmoor Way--would increase noticeably with the development.
