World IN BRIEF : VATICAN : Pope Plans Fourth Trip to Poland in ’91

In an open-air Mass commemorating Palm Sunday, Pope John Paul II said he will be in Poland next year to celebrate the Roman Catholic Church’s World Youth Day, the first international meeting the church has convened in Eastern Europe. It would be the pontiff’s fourth visit to his homeland since assuming the papacy in 1978. The Mass in St. Peter’s Square was attended by 10,000 young pilgrims and marked the start of a busy Easter week for the Pope.
