LOCAL : Search On for Missing Boy, 15
A search team was organized today to look for a missing 15-year-old Pomona boy who apparently got lost while on a family camping trip in Cleveland National Forest.
Jeremy (Jake) Beecher was last seen about 10 a.m. Sunday near the Falcon Group Camp Ground, about 15 miles northeast of San Juan Capistrano, said Lt. Richard Olson of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
“He just went off by himself,” Olson said. “He was wearing a blue Pendleton shirt over an ‘E.T.’ T-shirt, blue jeans, a denim jacket and cowboy boots.”
Assisting sheriff’s deputies in the search in the rugged terrain were six U.S. forest rangers and a helicopter.
The search area was five miles north of the Ortega Highway near the Riverside County border.
