LOCAL : Body Found After Motel Fire
Authorities today are investigating a fire that engulfed a Costa Mesa motel room where the body of a young man was found. The blaze started about 11 p.m. Tuesday at the Harbor Bay Motel in the 2000 block of Harbor Boulevard, near Victoria Street. Officials said they didn’t know if the fire killed the man or if he was dead before it began. His name was withheld until relatives could be notified.
It was the second blaze in the past 40 days at a Costa Mesa motel. On March 1, a fire burned a room in the La Quinta Inn on Coast Drive, which police said was being used as a drug lab.
