San Diego police have arrested two Paradise Hills men in connection with the death of a 37-year-old night watchman.

Police spokesman Bill Robinson said officers found the body of Octavio Prieto March 17 at a construction site in the 4500 block of Executive Drive, near University Towne Centre. Prieto had been beaten to death.

Tuesday morning, homicide detectives arrested Antonio Arroyo Jr., 34, at his home in the 5500 block of Chattanooga Street. That afternoon, his brother Ruben, 29, went to police headquarters in downtown San Diego to ask about the elder Arroyo. He was questioned and also arrested, Robinson said. The two men, both self-employed carpenters, are being held in County Jail. Bail has not been set.

Witnesses told police that Prieto--a laborer and night watchman who lived at the site--had argued with the brothers earlier on the day he was beaten, Robinson said. No motive has been established.
