SAS Buys Stake in Chilean Airline: Following an international trend toward airlines buying stakes in carriers in other countries, Scandinavian Airlines System said it has agreed to buy 30% of Lan Chile, the Chilean flag carrier. SAS will invest $40 million in Lan Chile, including $30 million for the stock, and is expected to pay another $10 million to enlarge its stake to 35% sometime in the near future.
