From Times Staff and Wire Reports

A guerrilla faction in Cambodia has withdrawn from two northwestern towns in an effort to show that it is not responsible for cases of rape, black-market dealing and other crimes reported there. A statement from the guerrilla group loyal to Prince Norodom Sihanouk said its fighters had pulled out of Thmar Pouk and Treas after the faction and its allies captured the towns earlier this week. Sihanouk’s group--considered the weakest of three opposing the Vietnamese-supported government--said it would concentrate on other areas.
