Hungary Envoy Chosen

WASHINGTON —
President Bush announced his selection Monday of Charles H. Thomas, a career foreign service officer, to be U.S. ambassador to Hungary. If confirmed by the Senate, Thomas, 55, would replace Mark Palmer, who retired from the foreign service for a job in international banking.
