Lancaster City Council Elects Pursley as Mayor
The Lancaster City Council on Tuesday unanimously elected second-year councilman William Pursley to serve as mayor of the city of approximately 90,000 residents.
The five-member council elected Pursley after swearing in newly-elected Councilmen Henry Hearns and George Root. Also sworn in was returning Councilman Arnie Rodio.
The council elected Root vice-mayor. Council members select a new mayor from their ranks each year.
