Beverly Enterprises Inc.: The nation’s largest owner and operator of nursing homes said first-quarter profit totaled $682,000, contrasted with a $9.4-million loss in the same period last year. Revenue fell slightly to $501.9 million. The Pasadena firm’s 1989 results included pretax restructuring charges of about $8 million.
