Rosemead : Mayor Wins Another Term
The City Council selected Dennis McDonald to serve another term as the mayor and voted Robert DeCocker mayor pro tem.
McDonald, 47, an El Monte fire marshal, was recently elected to a fourth term on the council. Although he voted against himself in the 3-2 decision, McDonald said he is looking forward to another term as mayor.
“I’m involved in so many things that I wasn’t sure I wanted another responsibility,” McDonald said. “But I enjoyed being mayor last year and I have no doubt that I will enjoy it again this year.”
McDonald said he will continue working on plans for a community center with low-income housing for senior citizens, and for increased landscaping for Valley Boulevard.
DeCocker, 63, a retired school administrator, has been on the council for two years.
