County Clerk Zolin to Leave Post Next March
Frank S. Zolin, who runs the largest original jurisdiction court system in the English-speaking world, announced Wednesday that he is leaving his job as Los Angeles County clerk and Superior Court executive officer.
Zolin, 57, said in a resignation letter to county supervisors and Superior Court Presiding Judge Richard P. Byrne, that after 32 years of government service he wishes to pursue new professional opportunities.
“I’m 57 years old, and I think I’ve got eight or 10 very productive years before I want to play golf all the time,” Zolin said.
He added that he may pursue consulting opportunities or another management position in the public or private sector. Zolin said he plans to leave in March, 1991.
