Attorneys in Santa Clara have filed a complaint on behalf of the widow of former San Francisco 49er running back Carl Monroe, alleging in a wrongful death suit against Dr. Minh Van Thai of San Jose that drugs prescribed by him killed Monroe on April 26, 1989.
Monroe was being treated for chronic bronchitis, for which Thai allegedly prescribed Tussionex, a narcotic cough syrup, improperly.
