Alaska Air Group Inc.: The parent of Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air Industries reported a net loss of $2.1 million for the first quarter, contrasted with net income of $6.4 million for the same period of 1989. Revenue was $230.8 million, up 17% over last year. The loss includes $990,000 in dividends on a new issue of preferred stocks. The Seattle-based firm said passenger traffic did not keep pace with a 20% increase in capacity and called the results “disappointing.”
