San Diego police said they arrested a speeding motorist who was carrying 300 pounds of packaged marijuana in a pickup truck.
Ramon Garcia, 40, was being held in the County Jail in lieu of $3,000 bail on suspicion of marijuana possession and speeding, officials said.
Police spokesman Bill Robinson said U. S. Customs Service agents asked for police help shortly before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday because Garcia was speeding on Interstate 5 north of California 52.
A police officer stopped Garcia on I-805 and found the marijuana in the bed of the truck, Robinson said.
