San Diego County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a National City woman who escaped Wednesday night from the County Jail at Las Colinas.
At about 8:45 p.m., an unidentified inmate was caught when an alarm sounded as she was attempting to climb the fence at the northwest corner of the facility, a deputy said. The jail was locked down and a head count was taken, and Olivia de la Torre, 25, was found to be missing.
Torre had been booked into the jail April 4 for violation of parole on a narcotics conviction, authorities said. She is described as Latina, 5-foot-5, 125 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing maroon clothing, and possibly a gray sweat shirt.
