Panama Invasion’s Leader Nominated for Command

President Bush has nominated Lt. Gen. Carl Stiner, 53, who commanded the U.S. invasion of Panama, to be commander in chief of the U.S. Special Operations Command, the Pentagon announced Thursday. The command includes the Army Rangers, Green Berets, Navy SEALs and the Air Force Special Operations Wing.
