Bradley Signs Ordinance to Protect Historic Zone
Mayor Tom Bradley signed an ordinance Thursday to protect the historic architectural nature of a residential neighborhood north of the Miracle Mile shopping district.
“Miracle Mile North is the home of hundreds of irreplaceable examples of the architecture that characterized Los Angeles from the mid-1920s to early 1940s,” City Councilman Zev Yaroslavsky said at a signing ceremony in the neighborhood.
Earlier this month, the council voted 14 to 0 to approve the ordinance setting up the special district in an area bounded by Beverly Boulevard on the north, La Brea Avenue on the east, 3rd Street on the south and Gardner Street on the west.
