Up to 7 People Killed as Heavy Rains Hit Rio

RIO DE JANEIRO —
Heavy rains in Rio killed up to seven people, news reports said Thursday. The downpour caused chaos throughout the city and forced the postponement of along-awaited show by former Beatle Paul McCartney.
News media reported four people died late Wednesday when two homes collapsed. Three others were electrocuted when they leaned on light posts as they waded through flooded streets, according to new reports.
The rain caused massive traffic jams throughout Rio as cars stalled in flooded streets.
