Change of Networks for Baseball Coverage Has Fan Appreciation

Share

I thoroughly enjoyed the inaugural major league baseball telecast by CBS.

Although it was unfortunate to have to see the Dodgers on national TV again, the broadcasters were far superior to what we have suffered with at NBC. Dick Stockton actually referred to the team in blue as “L.A.” or “Los Angeles” from time to time. Cheerleader Vin Scully always lovingly called them the Dodgers. Moreover, Jim Kaat accurately reported that Hubie Brooks made an easy catch a tough one, because he’s a bad outfielder. Scully would have tried to make us believe that Brooks made “a marvelous play.”
