Home Improvement : Building a Comfortable Redwood Chaise for Deck

Share
Ellingson has been designing patterns and plans for the amateur woodworker since 1948.

Whether you are sunbathing or reading, everyone enjoys a day outdoors. This redwood set brings comfort, and you’ll save money making it yourself. Step-by-step instructions include photos, drawings and materials lists.

The chaise has a three-position back rest, arm rests and wide wheels to make moving and turning easy. Just fold up the shelf for easy access to a cool drink, and enjoy a few hours of pure relaxation. To make a complete set of long-lasting outdoor furniture, we also offer a sturdy chair and ottoman. Standard furniture pads are available at local home centers or patio shops.

To obtain redwood chaise and redwood chair and ottoman, ask for No. C39, Redwood Trio for $8. For those interested in a collection of eight projects, including bird feeders, storage units, other lawn furniture and more, order No. C22, Lawn & Garden Packet, $10.50. Prices include postage and handling. Also available is our Patterns for Better Living catalogue, picturing 700 woodworking and handicraft projects, $3.95. Send check or money order to Steve Ellingson, c/o Los Angeles Times, P.O. Box 2383, Van Nuys, Calif. 91409-2383.
