Japanese auto maker Nissan Motor Co. has agreed with the U.S. Motor & Equipment Manufacturers’ Assn. to increase its purchases from U.S. auto parts suppliers.

The company said the agreement was reached at a meeting of representatives from both sides held earlier this month in Las Vegas.

The company said it will try to expand its purchases to exceed the $740 million originally targeted for fiscal 1992.
