7 Die in Turkish Battle

DIYARBAKIR, Turkey —
Six rebel Kurds and one Turkish soldier were killed in a clash in southeastern Turkey, officials said Sunday. The battle between a military patrol and rebels of the separatist Marxist Kurdish Workers Party lasted several hours on Saturday near Sirnak, 25 miles north of the Iraqi border, they said.
