From Times staff and Wire reports

The shuttle Discovery’s crew flew back to Kennedy Space Center, Fla., for blastoff on a critical flight to carry the $1.5-billion Hubble Space Telescope into orbit. The Tuesday launch is 14 days late because of hydraulic problems. Air Force meteorologists predicted a 70% chance of good weather at launch time, although an approaching frontal system could cause problems should it slow down or stall today.
