Mayor Plans Washington Pitch for Metro Rail Funds
Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley is traveling to Washington this week in a quest for more federal funds to help build the Metro Rail subway from MacArthur Park to Hollywood, the mayor’s office announced Monday.
Bradley is to be one of several Los Angeles officials testifying at the House Appropriations subcommittee on transportation hearing this afternoon. A Bradley spokesman said the local delegation is seeking $185 million during the next fiscal year for the 6.8-mile extension of the Metro Rail system. The federal government recently allocated $667 million for the segment.
