Inge Festival Founder Dies: Margaret Goheen, the founder-director of the William Inge Festival in Independence, Kan., Inge’s home town, died Monday of cancer at age 68. Goheen the day before had just been presented this year’s Margo Jones Award, established in 1961 by playwrights Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee, and given annually to “a theater statesperson who believes in playwrights.” Margo Jones, who died in 1955, presented early works by Inge, Tennessee Williams and Lawrence and Lee in her Dallas theater.
