Fluor Contracts: In a continuation of its diversified business growth, the Fluor Corp. on Tuesday announced that its Fluor Daniel Inc. subsidiary had received three new contracts worth more than $47 million.
The Irvine-based engineering and construction company said its primary subsidiary, Fluor Daniel, had received a contract to provide engineering, procurement and construction management services for a chemical manufacturing plant improvement project in Wilmington, N.C. The company said the contract, worth about $24 million, is with Wilmington-based Cape Industries, which makes raw materials used by the polyester industry.
Fluor Daniel was awarded another contract worth about $23 million by the Augusta Newsprint Co. to provide procurement and construction services in the development of a 250-ton-per-day paper recycling plant addition in Augusta, Ga.
The company also has obtained a contract to do the conceptual engineering for development of a system that removes contaminants from water in an oil refinery operated by Sun Refining and Marketing, a subsidiary of Philadelphia-based Sun Co., Inc., in Marcus Hook, Pa. The value of the contract was not disclosed.
